All About Knights on Bikes Florida
Welcome to the Knights On Bikes in Florida...
WHO WE ARE!
Immediately after purchasing his Harley-Davidson, our Founder, Worthy Sir Knight Raymond Medina of the Diocese of Fort Worth, Texas, wanted everyone to know that he was a member of the "Knights of Columbus;" so he made a metal plate with a "K of C" decal on it, and affixed the metal plate to his motorcycle. Since then, other Brother Knights appreciated the uniqueness of his "K of C" plate, and followed suit, doing the same to their motorcycles! So, without realizing it, the "Knights on Bikes" were born!!
Officially launched in April, 2005, the newly created group known as the Knights on Bikes, is comprised solely of members of the Knights of Columbus, in ANY Degree(1st, 2nd, 3rd, or, 4th;) and is a world-wide fraternal group of Catholic Christians who enjoy recreational motorcycling. Members of the Knights on Bikes MUST have a Motorcycle License/Endorsement on their Driver's License, and MUST own a motorcycle(of ANY kind,) or, anticipate owning a motorcycle within six(6) months, in order to join the Knights on Bikes. Members MUST also be "IN GOOD STANDING" with their Councils and
Assemblies(if applicable!)
Members of the Knights on Bikes are dedicated to improving "the biker's image," promoting safety, and Christian values.
THE KNIGHTS ON BIKES...
Enjoy camaraderie with different Brothers of all Councils, spreading the faith and word of The LORD;
Members in the United States, Canada, and the Philippines; are able to visit Brother Knights in other Councils, Cities, States, and Countries, being regarded "as one of the Family;"
Are men of character and conviction, who are driven by faith and conscience, to do truly meaningful works; and,
Are a "Family Oriented" group of Knights of Columbus Men, who ride safely, while having fun!!!
REWARDS OF BEING A KNIGHT ON BIKE...
If you are wondering what makes the Knights on Bikes so special, the following are just a few of our objects, and, activities:
Helping to raise awareness of the Knights of Columbus, and the benefits of good "practicing" Catholic Christian gentlemen becoming members of the "Knights of Columbus," through our beautiful and informative "Exemplification Ceremonies;"
Helping our Councils and Assemblies raise monies for the less fortunate ("Fill the Helmet" Fund, Benefit Dances, Dinners, "Bike Shows;" and, helping with Blood Drives, etc;)
Showing our "patches" by riding in parades, visiting nursing homes, and reaching out to help those in most need;
Endeavoring to formulate parades and Knights on Bikes rallies;
Continue building the Knights on Bikes "to get CHRIST'S message out!"
